Introducing our exquisite soda-fired dinner plate, a true masterpiece crafted through the ancient art of soda firing. This unique technique involves introducing soda ash into the kiln during the firing process, resulting in mesmerising glaze effects and unpredictable patterns that dance across the surface of the plate. Each piece becomes a work of art, showcasing the vibrant interplay of colours and textures that only soda firing can achieve.

Do you feel like you're stepping back in time? You're not wrong, Soda firing was a big hit in the 60's and 70's and so we took inspiration and channeled the spirit of that iconic stoneware era. The mesmerising mallard colour palette, featuring rich earthy browns and soothing duck egg blues, takes center stage in this collection.

Whether you're serving up comfort classics or experimenting with contemporary cuisine, this plate adds a touch of vintage flair to your culinary adventures. So embrace the nostalgia, embrace the rustic charm, and let this soda-fired dinner plate transport you to a time when disco ruled and avocado was the height of sophistication.

Our Soda Dinner plate is Ø29cm x 2.5cm high, it has an organic, slightly oval shape with a dual handle of dry and smooth textures. It's made from stoneware, with a clay sourced from far North East Thailand. It's fired to extremely high temperatures for over 12 hours (twice!) making this piece very durable and fully vitrified (a fancy way of saying it won't absorb food and colour).

The Soda collection is handmade by a female studio in North East Thailand, using slip casts, wheels, jiggers and jollys. Its hand glazed and hand trimmed so variation should be expected. Dishwasher Safe, Microwave safe and Oven proof, talk about a triple threat!
